Policy / trial infrastructure

Texas IMPACT

Texas IMPACT is the state-backed ibogaine research effort announced as Ibogaine Medicine for PTSD, Addiction, and Cognitive Trauma.

Status

Authorized, selected, and announced — not safely described as contracted, funded/disbursed, FDA-cleared, enrolling, or running.

Texas IMPACT is the name used in the UTMB / UTHealth announcement for a state-backed ibogaine research effort: Ibogaine Medicine for PTSD, Addiction, and Cognitive Trauma.

SCM tracks it as a policy/trial-infrastructure lane tied to Ibogaine, not as proof that an ibogaine trial is already enrolling or running.

The safe current wording is: authorized, selected, and announced. Chapter 491 supplies the statutory framework; Texas HHS says UTHealth Houston was selected as lead institution; the UTMB / UTHealth release announces the IMPACT network and $50 million award framing.

The same HHS page says recent plans did not meet statutory requirements tied to matching state funds and allocation of intellectual-property / revenue rights. That caveat prevents SCM from writing that the program is safely contracted, funded/disbursed, FDA-cleared, enrolling, or running.

Use the Texas IMPACT page to keep the policy and consortium layer separate from the compound page. Use the Ibogaine dossier for compound/background/source-trail context and the Texas IMPACT post for the narrative article.
